Canberra Roller Derby game 4

Saturday 24 June 2017, 06:00pm

Game 4 of Canberra Roller Derby League’s 2017 home season on 24 June sees last year’s premiers the Red Bellied Black Hearts take on a resurgent Black ‘n’ Blue Belles.

In their first game of the 2017 home season, the Hearts had a few missed beats as they fought to overcome an experienced Surly Griffins line up. The Hearts couldn’t shake the Griffs for the first half, going into half time with a handful of points to spare. However, the Hearts came out pumped for the second period and drew away from the Griffs in a powerful jamming display. The Hearts will be looking to get a confident start from the very first whistle against the Belles.
The Belles have been steadily building their line up throughout the season. In their last game against the Brindabelters the Belles’ pack put on powerful display of blocking, consistently holding the Belters’ jammers to a handful of points each jam. They will want to repeat that performance against a strong jamming Black Hearts crew.
Your homegrown heroes on wheels roll out at the Southern Cross Stadium in Tuggeranong on June 24. Doors open at 6pm, first whistle at 6.30pm.
