Canberra United has added four local women to the 2019 season. Lauren Keir has joined the top flight team for the first time, while Aoife Colvill, Maddy Whittall and Laura Hughes have all re-signed.

Coach Heather Garriock promised to give locals more opportunities, and says every player earned their spot in the squad....

Canberra Caps get three from three

A white hot Canberra Capitals outfit played their first WNBL home game of the season yesterday to make it three from three, beating Adelaide Lightning 79-75. The win was important after last's year's 13 straight losses after two initial victories.

National apology to those who have experienced institutional child sexual abuse
Australians who experienced institutional child sexual abuse have travelled to Canberra for a national apology. Prime Minister Scott Morrison will tell thousands of victims they were failed by institutions which were supposed to care for them.
 
Opposition Leader Bill Shorten hopes the apology can provide some comfort and closure....
