Girlfriend of accused Queanbeyan killer pleads guilty to domestic violence

The girlfriend of a 16-year-old boy allegedly involved in the Queanbeyan rampage has pleaded guilty to domestic violence charges.

The girl is accused of pulling out an 8-inch carving knife in her home and threatening her family, just a day after her boyfriend's alleged crime spree left a service station worker dead.

Man cleared of accusations he hit a child with a pinata stick

Charges have been dropped in the case of a Conder man accused of hitting another person's child with a pinata stick.

Prosecutors alleged at his own daughter's birthday party in October, the 39-year-old father hit a young boy with the stick, leaving a red welt on his leg.

School zones back in as Easter break comes to an end

Canberra drivers are being reminded to pay extra attention as children return to school to start Term Two.

40 kilometre per hour speed limits will be in force around schools from 8am until 4pm and from 8 until 9.30 in Queanbeyan.

A citizens' jury could be on the way for Canberra
