An interactive mural for a new early intervention autism centre in Garran has been unveiled ahead of World Autism Awareness Day on Friday.
The work has been created by Canberra artist Geoff Filmer, whose son Gus has autism, and includes several chalkboards so children would feel inspired to contribute.
The bright and whimsical mural shows off a range of Canberra plants and wildlife, landmarks and nods to sporting teams, with Skywhale and the arboretum’s Wide Brown Land sculpture featuring.
