Al-Harazi Given 30 Years Jail For Stabbing Murder Of His Wife

A Canberra man has been sentenced to 30-years behind bars for the brutal stabbing murder of his wife in their Gordon home.

Maged Al Harazi stabbed Sabah Al Mdwali 57 times while she breastfed their 10-month-old son in March 2015.

He reported the murder himself, telling Tuggeranong police Al-Mdwali's brother and father were responsible.

A dramatic five-week trial found him guilty in April, hearing the relationship deteriorated with Al Harazi wanting to move back to Yemen.

Outside court this morning, Mdwali's brother said the family will cherish the memories of his sister.

Al-Harazi won't be eligible for parole until 2036.
