Indigenous Smoking Deaths Expected To Rise


The number of deaths from smoking among our indigenous population is set to rise.

An ANU study has found despite big reductions in the number of people using tobacco, the time difference to the onset of disease means the death-rate will increase, at least in the short term.

The Canberra-based study argues grassroots efforts to cut smoking rates within indigenous communities need to continue.
