Kings Highway to reopen

Kings Highway to reopen

The stretch of the Kings Highway near Braidwood that was closed as a result of bush fires will be reopened from this afternoon.

The highway is the main travel route between Canberra and the South Coast.

It's closure has seen a massive loss of business on the coast, dependent on tourism.

As a result of the Currawan and Clyde Mountain bushfires, the highway has been closed since December.

Work to reopen the highway ahead of schedule has been extensive with the 43 kilometre stretch of road seeing 1200 hazardous trees removed.
