Canberra man awarded damages in wrongful arrest

A Canberra man has received $30,000 in damages after he was wrongfully arrested.

Luke Marsh had a drink on Christmas Day which showed up in a breath test during his routine reporting appointment for bail.

He fled the police station on a bike but was pursued by an officer, who claimed Mr Marsh shoved the bike into him, injuring his legs.

Cooma teacher pleads guilty to sexually assaulting a student

A former teacher at a Cooma high school has pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child.

Back in 2005, it's alleged the teacher and his student - who was between the ages of 10 and 14 - struck up a relationship and had sex at his home.
