Belconnen building site shut down

A large building site in Belconnen has been shut down, after works were carried out without approval.

The site, which has not been named, was closed on Friday after it was found that works had commenced without development or building approvals in place.

Serious flu season hits Canberra

The number of Canberrans diagnosed with the flu has almost tripled this year, compared to last.

There have been 310 confirmed cases of influenza in the territory in the first four months of 2019.

A number of Canberrans have also died, but ACT health authorities are refusing to say how many.
