Rome Up Late

Friday 18 January 2019, 05:00pm - 09:30pm

Join us for a look at the Romans at home with Emeritus Professor Elizabeth Minchin from the Centre for Classical Studies at the Australian National University. What was life like in a Roman household? How did the ancient Romans live their everyday lives? We’ll use archaeological evidence and ancient texts to look at housing, heating and lighting, water supply, diet and cuisine, and family composition (including slaves).
