The North Gungahlin suburb of Moncrieff could be home to a major new shopping centre, with a development application being lodged recently.

Supermarket giant Woolworths putting forward a potential centre that includes a retail and commercial precinct, medium density housing and a centrepiece park.

The $106 million Moncrieff Village proposal involves two blocks, with one for a two-storey shopping centre, while the other for a five-storey apartment block containing 42 units and 52 townhouses.

The planned park would run from Horse Park Drive to O’Keefe Avenue.

The DA is open for comment until July 8th.
