The New South Wales Transport Department is refusing to accept responsibility for A.C.T. motorists being in-correctly slugged Sydney toll road fees.
It’s because of a major technology flaw, used to track motorists who use toll roads across NSW.
It seems the A.C.T. has issued licence plate numbers – that are the same as those issued in NSW.
And Canberra motorists with the same number, are being incorrectly charged the toll fee.
NSW Transport has refused any responsibility, saying it’s the problem of the private motorway operator – TRANSURBAN – which HAS apologised for the bungle… but won’t comment on specifics.
It’s believed, many thousands of Canberra car owners could be impacted by the bungle.
