A Canberra man’s been sentenced to 10 years jail for the 1993 rape of a woman in Perth.

It’s understood, the man was never identified until a recent investigative Genetic Genealogy technique, used to match his DNA – with samples from the crime scene.

Last year, he was extradited to Perth from Canberra… and admitted his guilt….

The court heared horrific details of the crime from 1993, when the man broke into the room of the sleeping teenager.

The Canberra man will service 8 of his 10 year sentence before being eligible for parole.
