Aboriginal flag not to fly

An amazing turnaround by Yass Valley Council.

After originally giving the green light for the Aboriginal flag to fly outside the Soldiers Memorial Hall – Council has now voted to rescind the plan.

The decision was tight at 5 to 4 to rescind the original decision.

The plan was given the go ahead in late July on the basis it was a step towards reconciliation.

It followed a move by the New South Wales Government to fly the Aboriginal flag on the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
