ACT Government extends border restrictions for another week

The ACT Government has announced it will extend its hard border restrictions to people from Sydney, the Central Coast and Wollongong for at least another week.

It means non-residents who have been in COVID hotspots will continue to be banned from entering the ACT, while Canberrans returning home will have to quarantine for 14 days.

Chief Minister Andrew Barr says 2021 will be no different from 2020, even as vaccines roll out.

He says we need to accept that coronavirus restrictions may be constantly changing for potentially years to come.
