ACT Government Extends Public Health Declaration

Share:

As the ACT heads into its cold – and flu season – the territory government has extended its Public Health Emergency Declaration – by 90 days.

This decision to extend the declaration has been made – based on ACT Chief Health Officer Doctor Kerryn Coleman’s advice.

Health Minister Rachel Stephen-Smith says the extension will allow the Chief Health Officer to continue to take appropriate actions – and make public health directions to protect Canberrans.

She says while the government is cautiously optimistic about the ACT’s COVID-19 situation – it still needs to keep the appropriate precautions in place.
