The ACT Government has shared it’s support for new Mechanical Chest Compression Devices across the region.

Introduced by the ACT ambulance Service, 8 new devices will deliver CPR automatically and free up first responders to prioritise other urgent, life-saving actions.

Minister for Police, Fire and Emergency Services, Marisa Paterson says the devices provide safe and consistent CPR when manual compressions are difficult, including during transport to hospital.

Similar devices are already in use in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, and the Northern Territory.
