The nation’s capital is the latest to strengthen its border controls in light of new coronavirus cases in New South Wales.

The ACT will shut its border to Covid-affected areas from lunch time on Saturday the 2nd of January 2021.

Those who need to travel to Canberra can apply for an exemption at least three days prior and the change doesn’t apply to residents.

Victoria’s hard border closure has also come into effect overnight.
