Chief Minister Andrew Barr has announced the ACT will be brought in line with its counterparts across the border, and will mark a public holiday on April 25 and 27.

Anzac Day will continue to be commemorated on 25 April, with all dawn services and commemorative activities taking place on the Saturday.

Monday will be an additional public holiday.

Further information on ACT public holidays will be available on the ACT Government website.

The change comes after the Shop, Distributive and Allied Employees Association called on the government to commemorate the day, so workers wouldn’t miss out on pay.
