The Canberra Liberals are accusing the ACT’s Finance Minister of making a misleading claim about the territory’s finances.

Rachel Stephen-Smith has told local media on Wednesday, January 28, that the government had improved the budget bottom line by half a billion dollars, however the Liberals say official figures do not support that assertion.

Shadow Treasurer Ed Cocks says the comments are an attempt to manufacture a “win” from what he describes as a deteriorating budget, calling it a slap in the face for those affected by the government’s financial mismanagement.
