The A.C.T. Government’s moving forward with plans to increase security for Canberra’s bus drivers.

It comes in response to the bus strike from a week ago….

The Transport Workers Union has welcomed the ACT Government’s plans to improve bus driver safety.

As a result, new safety security screens are being installed across the bus fleet.

The screens will help protect drivers from escalating abuse.

… and in February next year, drivers will be offered training on ways to de-escalate matters, should a security incident arise.
