AHA Calls Out Restrictions On Nightclubs

Iconic nightclub Mooseheads has become the latest business to close its doors over restrictions being placed on local venues.

Management made the announcement the restrictions have made training unsustainable for hospitality venues, and that 70 staff most of who are casuals, will receive no government support while the night club is closed.

Anthony Brierly from the Australian Hotels Association says the blame squarely sits with the government.

“It’s wrong that the restrictions can be so harsh that a business is unviable and it’s only course of action is to close it’s doors,” Brierly said.

No timeframe has been given as to how long the restrictions will be in place for the four nightclubs in Canberra.
