Friends of Grasslands – together with the Conservation Council A.C.T. – have raised the alarm as the Capital Airport Group restarts construction on the Northern Road at the Airport.

The airport halted construction on the road in February, stating they would not restart until they developed a “nature positive plan” for the Canberra Grassland Earless Dragon.

Despite no plan being published, the Airport Group has commenced work at the intersection of the proposed road with Majura Road.  

Both groups are calling on the project to be stopped, claiming it will destroy habitat, vital for the Dragon.
