Airport Security “At Risk”

Share:

Security guards at the Canberra Airport have raised the alarm about its new contractor.
Over 100 security guards will be affected as the Airport swaps security providers, changing from Certis to MSS Security on March 1 this year.
Guards across the country have already raised the alarm on MSS’s record of suppressing wages, bad faith bargaining and lax security controls on aviation security contracts.
Guards in the ACT have been told they need to re-apply for their jobs and, if successful, undergo a probation period.
It’s also understood current wages and conditions won’t be upheld.
The United Workers Union has written to Canberra Airport management, asking the company to intervene.
