Workers at the ACT government’s new state-of-the-art office buildings in Civic and Dickson are fighting for a desk.
The $300 million Constitution Place development in Civic and the $160 million development in Dickson were designed to only accommodate 80% of the workforce supposed to inhabit the offices.
COVID restrictions have seen the availability drop to 40%, meaning many staff are simply unable to return to work.
The ACT government is currently paying a contractor more than $720,000 to create a “wayfinding system” to enable workers to book a desk or meeting room and to help locate colleagues in the offices.
