When it comes to stroke care – two Canberra hospitals have been recognised for their excellence.

Calvary Public and Canberra hospital  have both been awarded the Australian Stroke Coalition Quality Stroke Service Excellence Award.

Ten other hospitals across the nation also received the award.

According to the Stroke Foundation – more than 27,000 Australians every year will have a stroke for the first time, and there are almost 450,000 people living with the effects of stroke in the community.
