The A.C.T. Government’s being urged to review bail conditions for those charged with domestic and family violence – even as far as introducing electronic monitoring.
The recommendation comes from a report by the Assembly’s Justice and community Safety committee.
It follows an inquiry into the administration of bail in the territory… offering 17 recommendations.
One of them includes a review of the TYPE and USE of bail conditions for those charged in relation to family and domestic violence offences.
Another recommends the use of electronic monitoring –
The A.C.T. is the only jurisdiction in Australia that does not use it.
