Cash, firearms and drugs have been seized and a 48-year-old Belconnen man charged with multiple offences following a search warrant on Thursday night.

About 7.40pm April 30, officers from multiple ACT Policing Major Crime Teams attended a residence in Belconnen to execute a search warrant.

At the home, police located:

Approximately $40,000 in cash, a loaded sawn-off shotgun, a loaded lever-action rifle, a trafficable quantity of cannabis, clip seal bags containing what is believed to be methamphetamine and more.

A 48-year-old resident of the home was subsequently charged with traffic in cannabis, unauthorised possession of firearms, unlawful possession of ammunition and possession of property suspected to be the proceeds of crime. 

ACT Policing will continue to target the possession and movement of illegal and unregistered firearms. Removing these items from circulation is a priority for police as each illegally held item poses a risk to the community.
