At the weekend, The ACT Brumbies joined the call for the resignation of Rugby Australia chairman Hamish McLennan – after the Eddie Jones debacle.
The Brumbies have joined forces with five other states and territories – to call for McLennan to step down after he oversaw Jones’s appointment – that led to Australia’s disastrous World Cup campaign.
The Brumbies have been at war with Rugby Australia – since it emerged, the national body was trying to complete what some described as a “Hostile Takeover” of the Canberra franchise.
The trust between the Brumbies and McLennan has eroded in what’s been discribed as “as a disastrous period for Australian rugby”.
UPDATE: MONDAY NOVEMBER 20
Hamish McLennan is no longer Chairman.
However, he’s publicly stated, he’s standing by his work at Rugby Australia – claiming his removal will only create more problems for the embattled code.
