A 19-year-old Higgins man has been arrested after allegedly performing a burnout in the Belconnen Police Station car park and attempting to evade police.

Last night, police say a group on trail bikes ignored directions to stop and fled. Shortly after, officers found one rider struggling to remount his fallen bike on Chan Street.

He was arrested while attempting to flee again.

The man, who was allegedly on an unregistered Suzuki and under good behaviour obligations, has been charged with failing to stop and reckless driving. Investigations continue
