There’ll be no movement in the A.C.T.’s bushfire preparedness – atleast for another year.
In its final report to the legislative assembly, it was recommended the Government step up prescribed burning efforts and double the annual funding level for the maintenance and management of fire trails in Canberra’s national parks.
But a response will be delayed.
The A.C.T. Government has until January next year to respond, which means there’ll be no action THIS fire season.
There is a silver lining:- predicted above-average rainfall this spring, means THIS summer is unlikely to be high-risk for fires.
