With the Federal budget to be handed down this month, A Canberra based poverty group wants to see another increase in jobseeker payments.
A.C.T. Senator DAVID POCOCK is part of the economic Inclusion Advisory committee.
It recently handed down a report with 22 recommendations on HOW the Commonwealth can do better, to help struggling Australians.
Last year, there was a $40 base rate increase in the budget for those on payments but the committee’s been told, people are still going without life’s essentials because they’re unaffordable.
Rent assistance is another area that needs attention.
The Prime Minister’s already flagged the budget will consider cost-of-living relief.
