Following a visit that was marred by violent protests to Sydney by the Israeli President, Isaac Herzog is on his way to visit Canberra.

The unrest that was seen in Sydney as prompted both ACT Policing and the Australian Federal Police Association to call for demonstrations to remain peaceful and within the law.

President Alex Caruana has said the situation presents significant challenges, and that previous demonstrations in Canberra have remained respectful.
