Travellers are becoming increasingly frustrated with the high level of flight cancellations with Qantas from Canberra Airport.

Figures have revealed 105 flights were cancelled from Sydney to Canberra in July at the airport.

The airport’s chief executive Stephen Byron says more people are opting to drive to and from the two cities as a result.

“If you’re flying from Canberra to Sydney you’re paying a lot of money and you deserve to arrive on time,” Mr Byron said.

“If you had more time you would be driving, this level of cancellation is seeing people say ‘we’d rather drive than fly with Qantas’ and we’re disappointed about that.”
