A day of celebrations has been scheduled, this Canberra Day.

The day begins with the Canberra Balloon spectacular, which is a daily event that began two days ago and continues through to Sunday.

Canberrans are being encouraged to visit some of the territory’s big landmarks to view the balloons…. such as the shores of Lake Burley Griffin, the Arboretum – or even Mount Ainslie.

A day of entertainment and activities will be held today from 10am at Commonwealth Park.

And for those who enjoy getting physical, the Canberra Day Appeal IS ALSO  getting underway at 10am… as part of a partnership with the Stromlo Running Festival, in a bid to raise funds for local charities….
