Qantas is working to get its schedule “back-on-track”  after a security breach in Melbourne which caused delays for flights in and out of Canberra.

An investigation’s underway into HOW a passenger passed from an ‘unscreened’ area – to a ‘screened’ area of Melbourne airport.

It led to a major operation to evacuate the terminal forcing thousands to be rescreened with queues at the security gates snaking outside the terminal.

There was a knock-on effect with the Melbourne airport shutdown delaying flights across Australia.

Earlier today, Qantas flights in and out of Canberra for delayed up to 90 minutes.

The airline released a statement saying Qantas staff are working hard to get everyone to their destinations.
