Canberra Job Fraud

Share:

A career public servant lost his job over a sophisticated jobseeker fraud that cost the Commonwealth $4,000.

The man won’t spend anytime behind bars, but has been directed to undertake 60 hours of community service.

The father of three, had previously pleaded guilty to abuse of public office and dishonestly causing a loss to the Commonwealth.

The charges stemmed from the man using his public service position to create six job seeker payments, worth just under $4,000 for a person who doesn’t exist.
