Canberra Jockey Hits Back at Claims of Animal Cruelty

A local jockey has hit back at claims of animal cruelty, after being slapped with a seven year ban by Racing NSW.

Chynna Marston was found guilty of eight charges of animal neglect, and bringing the sport into disrepute.

Her partner Alex Kean was banned for six years on seven charges of animal neglect and bringing the sport into disrepute.

The pair have denied the charges and have made it clear they will appeal the decision.

Allegations were first made in June 2023.

Marston published a video on Wednesday night claiming the allegations are ”laughable” and said a number of charges were in relation to horses that weren’t in her care at the time.

The charges relate to the alleged treatment of horses at a property near Yass.
