The Canberra Liberals have announced an independent review into kangaroo culling if elected next year.
Opposition Leader Elizabeth Lee says the review will investigate possible alternatives to culling, environmental impacts and counting methodology.
The party claims Canberrans are uncomfortable with current practices, disputing the methodology used by the ACT Government.
Environment Minister Rebecca Vassarotti responded to the policy announcement, calling it redundant because an independent review is already being underway.
Minister Vassarotti says the announcement is a ”political stunt that creates a false narrative”.
This is the second policy announcement from the Liberals… they announced a 100-million dollar fund for suburb repairs earlier this month.
