Canberra Loses Batik Air

Share:

It seems Canberra has lost one of its recently introduced international airlines.

Batik Air started flying between Denpasar and Canberra in June.

Its inaugural flight was controversial – The Aviation regulator started to investigate WHY the plane deviated from the route, falling below minimums prior to landing.

Now, the airline has paused its connection, citing operational changes.

Canberra Airport says it’s disappointed – but understands the carrier has faced operational challenges.

It means only one airline – Fiji Airways –  is now flying internationally into the National Capital.
