Only one retailer has confirmed plans to increase the price of gas next month across the A.C.T.

It was revealed earlier this week – Origin customers in Canberra would see their bills increase next month by more than $100.

That’s despite the Federal Government’s intervention in the energy market….

Origin says the company says retailers are facing “materially high” gas prices in recent months, which means it’s costing more to supply customers.

However, other retailers have not confirmed yet if they plan to follow suit.

Origin Energy is increasing natural gas prices for residential customers an average of 7 per cent from February 1st, while small businesses are facing a 9.1 per cent increase.
