A local professor has been recognised in the 20-23 Prime Minister’s Prizes for Science.

Professor of Engineering – at the Australian National University, Professor Larry Lu received the Malcolm McIntosh Prize for Physical Scientist of the Year.

Professor Lu and his team were awarded the prize for their creation of the world’s thinnest micro lens, which is two-thousandth of the thickness of human hair.

Professor Lu says he’s humbled by the honour.
