A Canberra man accused of stabbing a woman in the head with a needle has been granted bail to spend the holidays with family.

Liam Drummond has been released from the Alexander Maconochie Centre after spending more than two months behind bars.

The 24-year-old is facing a number of charges, including intentional wounding, over an alleged incident in Belconnen on October 6.

He’s set to return to court for a contested hearing in February.
