Police have thrown the book at a young Canberra motorist for DRUGS related offences, north of the A.C.T.

Police were carrying out random drug testing on the Barton Highway near Yass.. when they pulled over the man’s vehicle.

Officers say the driver came from the A.C.T. suburb of Cook.

Inspector DAVE COWELL says officers then searched the man’s car… and allegedly found drugs and drug utensils.

It’s further alleged, the driver returned a positive test for drugs in his system.

The sample waws taken away for further testing.

The man also received a caution notice for the alleged possession of cannibis – he’s expected to face court at a later date, pending the result of a lab test on the specimen he provided.
