Australian National University’s about to embark on an ambitious project on the A.C.T’s future electricity needs.

The University’s looking to map out Canberra’s electricity needs, come the year 2045.

Researchers plan to review each individual suburb, and the planned usage every half hour.

The move comes as the A.C.T. Government aims to be “Net Zero” by 2045.

The ANU researchers will work out with computer models the demand for electricity and the ways it could be supplied without burning carbon.
