The UC Capitals have unveiled their new look Indigenous jerseys ahead of the WNBL’s Indigenous Round.
The Capitals have both a home and away jersey this year, and will be the first club to kick off the round when they host the Melbourne Boomers on Sunday.
Operations Manager Joe Gleeson said the Capitals will be wearing the jerseys for the rest of the season, including finals.
“This is to show that our commitment to reconciliation and the celebration of First Peoples culture and history does not end after this round,” Gleeson said.
The round is extra special for two-time WNBL Champion Abby Cubillo who is a proud Larrakia woman through her father’s side, the Larrakia are the traditional owners of the Darwin region.
