A 55 year old Canberra man’s been banned from seeing his child, after appearing in court, charged with burning a six year old boy with a cigarette.

The man was granted strict conditional bail after appearing in the A.C.T. Magistrates Court.

The alarm was raised by the boy’s teacher –

an assessment by a doctor at Canberra Hospital revealed, the boy had been burned by a cigarette – the court was told, it was at the hands of the 55 year old.

The man did not enter any pleas – he’s due back in court next month.
