Canberra based SERVICES AUSTRALIA says it’s made a huge dent in addressing a backlog of claims.
Government Services Minister Bill Shorten calls it a major break-through… and he’s praising the work of his department in reducing a massive backlog of Centrelink and Medicare claims.
In just 10 weeks, he says half a million claims have been ploughed through… and the system’s on track to be “Back to Normal” levels, by the middle of the year.
Mr Shorten says the previous Coalition government slashed about 6000 staff – but Labor has hired More than 3000 new permanent staff – to process the backlog.
