Calvary Hospital staff have cancelled a third planned strike after their contractor Compass Medirest offered a significant pay increase.

United Workers Union director of property services Lyndal Ryan says the latest offer of about $23 an hour will make their pay equivalent to Canberra Hospital Cleaners.

The wages had not changed for almost three years and were $3 an hour lower than their counterparts at the hospital.
