Clubs Looking To Diversify Away From Gaming

Six community clubs have received close to a million dollars between them from the ACT Government, to help the venues move away from gaming revenue.

It’s part of the government’s diversification and sustainability support fund, which aims to minimise gambling based harm.

Community Clubs Chair Athol Chalmers says it’s an important investment to help clubs diversify their revenue.

“This funds help clubs fund additional investment in their land to try and diversify their revenue streams,” Chalmers said.

“At the Burns Club which I’m President of we’re looking at putting a child centre in.”
