Despite the Federal Government’s move to reduce consultancy costs, it seems the Health Department has spent the most on out-sourcing, for a second year in a row.
A new report shows HEALTH spent more than 70-million dollars on new consultancy contracts in the last financial year.
That’s nearly 14-million dollars MORE than it did, the previous year.
Health officials have justified the amount – saying it’s about POINT THREE of a percent, of overall appropriations over the past two financial years… and relates to the delivery of significant priorities… such as the improvement of aged care.. and strengthening Medicare.
Defence has also been criticized, – as the Commonwealth tries to slash outsourcing… to return core-work in-house.
