The A.C.T.’s Container Deposit Scheme is celebrating its 7th anniversary.

It’s a milestone for the service – marking the collection of nearly 400 million bottles, cans and cartons, as part of the container returns network.

Officials say the amount being returned is a sign of success for scheme in the A.C.T.

In a breakdown of the figures, it’s estimated about 90% of Canberra’s residents embrace the recycling method, with 7 out of 10 A.C.T. locals having taken part.
